Meet Assistant Deputy Mayor Jacqueline Guzman—a proud Sunrise resident of over 30 years. A former student of Sandpiper Elementary and Piper High School; raised in Covenant Life Christian Church (now The Bridge), Jacqueline’s journey is deeply rooted in the heart of Sunrise. Today, she’s proud to be raising her three children in the very community that shaped her.
As the first Latina elected to the Sunrise City Commission, she leads with integrity, service, and a deep commitment to her community. Her platform focuses on the issues that matter most: Public Safety, Youth Programs, Economic Development, Healthcare Access, and Quality of Life.
She’s also a strong advocate for affordable housing, mental health, small businesses, environmental sustainability, and equity in city services.
With more than a decade of grassroots and national leadership, Commissioner Guzman puts people first. She listens. She leads. She delivers.
